Levels

We follow the The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR):

  • A1 Beginners, A2 Elementary
  • B1 Intermediate, B2 Upper Intermediate
  • C1 Advanced, C2 Mastery

Short explanation below is to give you a rough idea. Mentioned hours are a mixture of direct hours with the teacher and doing homework at home. As much as we would appreciate it, there is no need to book 100+ hours for one level with us. 🙂

A1 Beginners
To get to this level, you’ll need between 100-120 hours. Mastering this level means you can talk a little about yourself in the target language, understand and use familiar expressions. You’ll be able to introduce yourself and ask about other people’s personal details.
A2 Elementary
At this level you’ll be able to talk about yourself more in-depth using more complex sentences. Understand frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (for example, very basic personal and family information, shopping and local geography). You’ll need 180-200 hours to get here.
B1 Intermediate
You’ll be able to communicate essential points and ideas in familiar contexts when you achieve this level. Understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Approximately 350–400 hours could help you to get here.
B2 Upper Intermediate
You will gain basic fluency at this level and have more in-depth conversations, interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. You may need around 500–600 hours to get here.
C1 Advanced
At this level, you’ll be able to speak more fluently and flexibly. Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices. This will take about 700-800 hours.
C2 Mastery
This level is where you’ll be able to read and speak pretty much anything in the target language. Express yourself spontaneously and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning, even in the most complex situations. It may take about 1000-1200 hours to reach here.
